Barefoot Adventures at Ugandan Diaspora in Boston July 6

With things here at Barefoot coming together quite nicely,  we will be taking our biggest step yet and heading to Boston on July 6th for the Ugandan Diaspora Business Expo! This opportunity presents a fantastic chance to mingle with the who’s who of business development in Uganda.  It’s here with such a diverse collection of business savvy minds that we hope to launch our ship into the exciting waters of Adventure Tourism in Uganda.  It’ll be with any luck that we shake hands or even share a drink with the Hon. Maria Emily Lubega Mutagamba – Minster of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities.

This will be the first time that we present our vision to someone outside our families and friends and as you can imagine, we are both thrilled and anxious about the whole opportunity! Certainly though, if we’ve learned anything from our time in Uganda, it’s that we will be welcomed with open arms, helpful advice and warm hospitality!

So who is the Ugandan Diaspora community and why are we going?

They’re a group that has become increasingly influential both inside Uganda and abroad. As students in the worlds leading education institutions and business leaders in her strongest economies, they’ve began playing a central role in the countries future growth and success. Not only are they responsible for a great deal of financial activity through the remitences they provide their families still at home, they’re also the bright minds that will lead the future knowledge based economy Uganda has been developing for the better part of the last decade.

Fortunately for us, a good portion of that new economy involves a healthy and robust tourism sector that takes full advantage of Uganda’s natural treasures! With any such luck this conference will let us get our bare feet wet and introduce us to some great new relationships and connections!

Wish us luck!

All the best friends,

Anthony and Mark
